Inspiration

As an actor and lover of theatre, my journeys have taken me inside some of the most beautiful broadway houses.

I’ve always marveled at their architecture and pictured these spaces "back in the day". Lighting is so important in setting the right mood and ambiance, with most fixtures high above one's head. One particular occasion I was photographing a chandelier from directly underneath and, to my surprise, was amazed at the beauty and artistic quality they produced. My obsession the next year was to capture as many as I could from the same vantage point, with hopes of producing shots from every Broadway theatre that warranted it.

I hope you find them as captivating as I do, and remember to look up at these beautiful Broadway Gems the next time you see a Broadway show.

Why stop at just lighting fixtures. Sometimes you forget to look down. I decided that some of the aisle seat stanchions had their unique quality and charm all their own, sparking some other designs to play with. The architecture in these theatres are endless. I hope to come up with many more creative ideas.
